What types of background checks does MyTruDate perform on users?2023-12-15T17:33:20+00:00

Our dating app performs a criminal background check on all applicants on our platform. Please consult our Offense Reporting Policy for more information on the types of offenses that disqualify a person from admission to MyTruDate.

How often are background checks performed on users?2023-12-15T17:33:20+00:00

How can I protect my personal information while using dating apps?2023-12-15T17:33:20+00:00

To protect your personal information while using dating apps, be cautious of people who ask for personal information, such as your last name, address, or financial information. Do not share this information with anyone until you feel comfortable and have met them in person. Also, set your privacy settings to the highest level possible on the app.

How do you ensure the accuracy and completeness of the background check information?2023-12-15T17:33:19+00:00

Unfortunately, we cannot. Criminal background screenings are not foolproof. In fact, they may produce inaccurate or incomplete results, and run the risk of giving people a false sense of security. Because criminal background checks are not a perfect safety solution, we urge all users to still exercise an abundance of caution while using the Platform to meet new people. Despite the imperfection of the process, our partner provides world-class criminal background check expertise to our users and combs through thousands of public records for each appliance, striving to ensure as much accuracy and completeness as is possible in this inherently faulty process. Furthermore, our Trust and Safety Team is committed to working with our users to investigate any inaccuracies or errors that users may bring to our attention in hopes of making the screening process more comprehensive.

What happens if a user’s background check reveals a criminal record of an excludable offense or other concerning information?2023-12-15T17:33:19+00:00

If a user’s background check reveals a criminal record of a disqualifying offense (please consult our Offense Reporting Policy) or other concerning information, our Trust and Safety Team will immediately launch an internal investigation to determine whether it is necessary to take appropriate action such as suspending or terminating the user from the platform. Each such report will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
